An 11-page booklet offers an explanation attempting to clarify and give context to the verse that states salvation is by grace through faith, and not of works, lest any man should boast.

Premise:

There is a belief, with sincerity in Christian circles, that the phrase concerning "salvation is not of works," lest any man should boast (Eph 2:9)' implies that true Bible-directed living and obedience(s) are not essential for life eternal.  However, the lack of Bible-directed living and obedience will lead to the forfeiture of salvation.  This essay proposes to show how the phrase 'not of works' properly fits into the biblical equation/definition of salvation.
