Description

The Neumanese of the Eastern Settlement of Wells county Indiana is a compilation of the obituaries of over 400 individuals buried in the Bluffton Apostolic Christian Church cemetery established in 1879.

This book is an insight into the Swiss believers who fled persecution from Switzerland and came to America in 1852.

The obituaries give us a glimpse into the lives of those who lived in the late 1800’s.  Some of the stories are very descriptive and tell how they died.  The dates of birth and death along with their parent’s names are also included with each person, which is helpful with Genealogy research.  This book reminds us of our own mortality and that our life is such a precious gift from God.

Psalm 103: 13-14

“As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear him.  For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.”
