Precious Piano - A Teacher Training

You don’t have to be an expert piano player. You don’t have to know how to teach. If you love children, love God, and appreciate His gift of music, we can train you!

This is a self-study course for becoming a piano teacher (approx 5-10 hours). 

This training gives explanations of all the Precious Piano materials. Samples of each of the materials are provided. You will want to have a piano nearby as you complete the training. The training and quiz/testing is given by Kendra Ramsier (her contact information is included with the training material.)

After explaining the materials, the training provides general information on teaching, such as teaching principles, learning hurdles, using incentives, etc. Other specific information for piano teachers is provided in areas such as structuring your first lesson and later lessons, opportunities for your students to perform, record-keeping, creating a piano policy, etc.

After completing the training, you are welcome to keep the training booklet for your reference.

Who is this course for?

For all current piano teachers - includes materials to motivate beginners, organize teaching theory and structure your lesson time.

For High School and Collage Age Piano Players - earn some side-line income with a flexible schedule by teaching others.

For Grandmothers or Mothers who can play piano - spend quality time with your children/grandchildren while giving them the gift of music.

Why is the training required before ordering materials?

Well, you can have delicious ingredients, but if you don’t have the instructions in the recipe, the food just might not taste the best. So no matter how helpful these materials are, we’ve found that if teachers do not understand how to use them, then both the students and the teachers will suffer.

Why the cost?

All endeavors require an investment before harvesting the returns and teaching piano lessons is no exception. Investing in the materials that give you and your students a firm foundation in piano playing will quickly be paid off by your piano teaching income. However it’s not just about the dollars that you spend and regain. It’s about providing quality of musical instruction that will pay off in your student’s lives in the years to come.

Education and training incurs a cost. Any class or workshop includes tuition and/or fees. The Training booklet is $85, which is a small price to pay for a training that prepares you for a job which pays quite well, materially and spiritually.

The New Teacher Kit is required for any beginning teachers and includes all the materials needed both for you as a teacher and for your student. Total cost is about $260; however, about half of that is reimbursed rather quickly as the student purchases the materials that they will use for piano lesson and then keep. Eventually, the actual cost of materials left to the teacher is only about $100. *NEW Based on teacher feedback, there were a few more topics requested, so they are included in an additional lesson in a packet entitled "Encore".
