    Zion's Harp

Posted by Kenneth Feucht on 7th Nov 2018

This review includes all of the 11 CDs already produced. The singing is 4 part chorale and unaccompanied. The voices are unified and together, making a near flawless production. The Zion's Harp songs are complex, rich, and spiritually uplifting. Though I have a slight preference for the ACCN Zion's Harp translation, that should not denigrate from poetical beauty of each and every one of these hymns. If I were to have any criticism at all, it would be the occasional choice of the compiler of these songs for tunes that are better known with other words. Regardless, without a doubt in my mind, the Zion's Harp stands as one of the most perfect church hymnals ever compiled in the English language. I have no prejudice, since I am Presbyterian but with both ACCA and ACCN upbringing, and know what is "out there" and being sung in many denominations of churches.
