- Allows musician to hum along while listening to the tuning fork, vs. trying to accurately match voice to pitch pipe after sound has ended
- Discretely check the ending pitch after leading a song
- Tuning Fork won't plug up or distort pitch like a pitch pipe
- In louder rooms, musician may touch the tuning fork to their tooth to transmit the tone to the ear
- Tuning Fork is Built to last as a timeless heirloom to pass from generation to generation
Pro Tips for Using the Adjustable Tuning Fork:
- To select your note, move top of the slider directly under the note desired
- Tap the fork to a knee or knuckle, and the pitch is easily heard when raised to an ear
- To prevent losing the slider, tuning forks are designed to fit somewhat tight. Most musicians will gently pry the two legs of fork open with fingers, while positioning the slider
- If slider is too loose or too tight, simply pull out slider and bend legs of fork very gently and very slightly either closer or further apart
- Replace the slider, making sure the broader side is facing up on the side of the note etchings; if the narrow side is up, tuning fork pitch will be a 1/2 note off
- Until new users are comfortable, it is recommended they match pitch of the tuning fork with a piano or other instrument before using in a group setting
Tuning Fork - Made by a Song leader, for other Song Leaders:
"Tired of your pitch pipe failing you at crunch time? Cookie tuner gets plugged up at a time when friends and family are counting on you? Wish you had a more discrete way to find your pitch? Does your pitch pipe ever give off an awkward sounding noise? These were some of the issues I was struggling with. One day a good friend gifted me a German handmade tuning fork. I came to love it, and decided I wanted to gift some to friends of my own. After scouring the web for months, and finding nothing along these lines, I decided to pursue making my own." - Taylor Gramm
