Behind many smiling faces there hides a hurting heart, and for what may appear to be glamorous, there is usually a high price to pay. Mrs. Walton gives us a glimpse into the life of a disillusioned young actress. In her fabricated world of glamour and glitz, Rosalie finds solace in the words of a gentle old man who gives her a picture of a Shepherd who loves and cares for her. Her travels take on new meaning as she shares with the "down-and-outers" about this wonderful Shepherd who loves them, too. This profound century-old story is still relevant in today's entertainment-enmeshed culture. A Peep Behind the Scenes outsold The Scarlet Letter by over two million copies in the 1800s.

This book keeps you interest all the way through and definitely underscores the need to not wait until the end of life to try and sort out your eternal destination. Highly recommended.

From Patricia Burdette of Topton, Pennsylvania on 8/11/2014.

Even as a woman in her 50's, this remains a favorite of mine! Tender, heart-breaking in places, yet real lessons about what is important in life. Yes, God's Word is the perfect and best place to find the full disclosure of Him and His character, but He will use many a means to reveal Himself when His Word is not available -- the very heavens declare His glory! I was touched by the simple trust of Rosalie in the love of the Good Shepherd who seeks the lost sheep He loves. I've listened to this over and over and enjoy it every time.

The Lamplighter stories are just fantastic. They are so pungent, clear and inspiring as to how to live ones' life in God's grace. The CD's are technically awesome and the acting is superb. Everyone I share them with is surprised and delighted. Thank you, all of you for the dedication and many, many hours of hard work you do to bring these to us. God bless.

The kind Shepherd truly calls His own and guides them to green pastures and cool waters. A touching story of hope and God's love and sovereignty.

This story is a beautifully done telling of the lost sheep, in a way that draws you in. The imagery described and sounds of country life and voices all lend to the superb quality of this recording. Its a great story to listen to with your family in the car!

Positive Rating Positive Rating Positive Rating Positive Rating Negative Rating Outstanding production quality/mature content
From Ashley Kean of Snellville, Georgia on 12/9/2012.

From steps echoing down a corridor as a character walks away, to consistent cockney accents in background conversations the production quality is OUTSTANDING!! We were amazed to hear wheels creak, bugs buzz, and other incidental sounds occurring around the main action! The subject matter and the way the story progresses is of a more mature nature than I had thus far explored with my kids, but they seem to have gathered accurate information and to have been able to digest it in the way it was presented.
